Ms. Hasegawa graduated from Aichi Prefectural University of Fine Arts and Music with a degree in singing from the Faculty of Music.
She was a student trainee and later an associate member of the Nagoya Branch of Nikikai, a classical singers’ association (She has since canceled her membership because she had to move to Tokyo.).
Her many operatic roles and concert performances include Fiordiligi in “Cosi fan Tutte,” Lucy in “the Telephone,” and Amahl’s mother in “Amahl and the Night Visitor.” She has been receiving good reviews for her various musical activities such as her collaboration with an orchestra, performance in a singing ensemble, and participation in an ensemble performance with a variety of wind, string, and percussion instruments. Recently, she has been active giving mainly recitals (in Osaka Club, Takarazuka Hotel, Matsukata Hall, etc.) and appearing as a guest singer in a variety of gatherings at various locations. In November 2004, PONGO-no-Kai (Hasegawa Mayumi Fan Club) was established, which currently has a total of 90 members, including directors that provide support to assist in expanding her range of her activities. Ms. Hasegawa teaches piano, singing, voice, and chorus to children as well as adults. She belongs to the Osaka Chamber Musical Theater and is a member of the Takarazuka Musicians’ Association, Con Anima, and Japanisch-Deutsche Gesellschaft Osaka. She sang some of the most beautiful opera arias, including “Un bel di (Madame Butterfly),” “Mi chiamamo Mimi (La Boheme),” and “Vissi d'arte, Vissi d'amore (Tosca),” when she appeared with the Takarazuka City Symphony Orchestra in Izumi Hall, Osaka on August 14, 2005.
